Hello, you’ve made it to my blag! Below are some posts! Here is a list of all posts. And here is a list of all tags.

  1. On needle length for estrogen

    -
With 12.7 mm needles, there’s still up to 60% risk of accidentally injecting IM instead of subq.1 And an article by needle manufacturer BD has a nice reference table on the risk factors on accidental IM injection for various injection sites for 8mm vs 12.7mm needles. Whilst IM/subq does not appear to matter pharmacokinetically, IM injections are associated with higher pain levels. In general, lower needle lengths are associated with lower pain levels and increased comfort. Additionally you need to apply less pressure on the plunger in order to inject with lower needle lengths. 8mm, or even shorter, needles appear to already be common in insulin applications.
  2. Pictures of European sea rocket

    -
I was walking around the beaches of Mallorca where I found some european sea rocket. Or at least I think it is, the shape of the leaves doesn’t match entirely, but I’m not a plant expert. In total I found three plants. At some parts of the plants all of the leaves appeared to be gone, leaving only the nubs. I thought that was quite curious. Consider these licensed under CC4.0-BY. Enjoy.
  3. On stack growth direction

    -
I was working on a project, and found myself in need of a virtual stack. Now most cpu’s grow the stack downwards, which means that pushing to the stack decrements the stack pointer. But why do they do so? And would growing it upwards have any advantages? From what I can tell, there isn’t actually any clear and concise answer. Many attribute it to sheer convention, but there are some minor differences. I thought I’d write a summary of what I found, to congregate the information on this topic.
